PRC Class designations

Class designations for the PRC are meant to be simple, yet offer some competition between racers.  The GT group will include all cars defined by PCA GT classifications including GT-1 through GT-4.  The Production class will include all PCA non-GT cars on DOT tires, and in keeping with the spirit of this club, cars that are GT class cars will not be allowed to compete in this class.  The GTA and GTC classes are meant for the new series of Porsche Cup Cars.  The Toyo Spec class will be cars conforming to clearly defined specifications for more cost-effective and competitive racing.

The entire rules document can be dowloaded here (note: 1MB doc):

2007 PRC Rules and Racing Document (CLEAN)

Some notes about the rules changes from 2006 to 2007:

1. These rules are for 2007, and include the first event, even though they weren't published yet.  Please review thoroughly, including all Appendices.  The document includes change bars to help you zero in on substantive changes from the 2006 rules.

2. As in the past, the 2007 Porsche Racing Challenge rules refer to the current-year NASA Club Codes and Regulations (CCR) and PCA Club Racing Rules, so you must access and review those documents as well.  They can be accessed/downloaded at www.nasaproracing.com and www.pca.org respectively.  Both NASA and PCA make it easy for you to identify changes from last year.

3. Please make sure you class your car correctly each time when registering for events.  This includes Porsche factory GT3 Cup and GT3 R/RS/RSR cars.  Remember that some of these cars are in GTA class and not GTC, and none of these cars are eligible for GT2 class.  Please also note that while PRC classes are based upon PCA Club Racing classes, the PRC does not offer all of the same classes as PCA Club Racing.  Please review the classifications thoroughly.

4.Please note that like the Spec Class, the GTL and GTA classes have weight restrictions.  Please make sure cars in these classes comply with the weight restrictions... we may (and do) check from time to time.

5. If you have any questions, please refer them to Mike Mitchell at mahler9th@aol.com.

For the Porsche Racing Club there is no difference between running DOT or race tires in any GT class.  Full PCA National Club Racing rules can be found here http://www.pca.org and NASA will use those rules as a guideline for the PRC.  See the rules document for complete rules on all classes.

Stickers will be placed on both sides, front and back of each car to designate its class.  Nomenclature will be GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4, GTS, GTC, etc.

Awards will be given to the winner of each of these groups following each race.
